Designer Statement

One of the most time-consuming things I worked on for this show was for the number "Who Reached for the Gun". During the tail end of that song. The main chorus begins quietly with a slow tempo, gradually speeding up and increasing in volume. I worked on an effect to have the cyc lights that hit the building facade change colors on the beat of that music, following the increase in tempo. Another interesting design choice I helped with was during "Mr. Cellophane". The point of the song is Amos describing how he is always in the background and never heard or seen. We wanted the actor to be seen, but wanted to show how he is never seen. We used footlights to light him, so mainly hitting his torso, allowing the audience to see the actor, while keeping his face somewhat not fully seen.
