Designer Statement
Flying Solo was a collection of one-act one-person shows by 15 students at the University of Minnesota Duluth. The first one I designed was "Home In A Box" by Emily Chittenden. This piece was very somber in tone, so I wanted to keep things subtle and take away from the emotions of her words. The other piece I designed was "Here" by Laura Carlson. This had a very light and upbeat tone, telling stories of concerts and playing ping-pong. I tried to create more of an upbeat and party feel, including saturated colors and spinning gobos.
